IDEA: ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ASSOCIATION / CO-OPERATIVE AND WEBSITE FOR ORGANIZERS OF SUSTAINABLE EVENTS

We propose registering the following domain for the development of Slovenian tourism: www.trajnostneprireditve.si. In addition, we propose establishment of an association/co-operative of organizers of sustainable events. The mentioned web domain is free and can thus be registered. It can also feature .org or .com endings. This website would be intended for institutions that deal with planning, organization and implementation of sustainable events on a daily basis. Furthermore, it would also present organizations that would become members of the mentioned association. This website would examine the possibility of establishing individual sustainable criteria in the framework of their work operations. It would  offer the following: examples of good practice, calendar of events (this is useful for visitors), model for the evaluation of sustainable events that would enable organizers to verify sustainability of their events, guidelines for organizing sustainable events, forum, photo reports from events, courses and workshops, to name just a few. The association/co-operative would also give out awards to event organizers annually through the website, for example: award for sustainable event, award for green innovation etc., and these awards could be used when promoting events. These awards would in turn help increase recognisability and credibility of sustainable events.
