Barcheyacht is looking for a student to do a five-month internship (December 2013 – April 2014).

About Barcheyacht

Barcheyacht is a brand-new website in the world of nautical tourism. It is an innovative web application made in Italy by a research group of Area Science Park, one of the leading science and technology parks worldwide. Barcheyacht makes the boat travelling experience complete by comparing over ten thousand models boats and providing all-round information on holidays and travel routes. The website allows novices a first approach to the boating world by following them step by step in planning a cruise or choosing the right boat for their needs. Barcheyacht optimizes the booking, comparison and research processes making them easier for customers while offering companies useful tools (brokers, charter, moorings, courses and research crew) to sell their services.

Purpose of the Internship

The aim of the internship is offering young students the opportunity to learn to do our job by significantly

involving them in our activities. The intern will be assigned specific tasks and responsibilities encouraging them to develop their skills and acquire experience. The work at Barcheyacht is divided into three main areas: editorial content creation, software programming and client assistance and search.

Intern’s main tasks

 Devising tourist boat itineraries for the website “Utilità” section;

 Creating new promotion campaigns for tourist itineraries;

 Providing customer care on Barcheyacht.it (both to boat providers and boat seekers).

Requirements

The intern should be fairly flexible for him/her to easily take part in the different daily activities at our office.

Knowledge of English is needed. Extra languages are a plus.

Knowledge of the specific features of the sailing tourism in the Mediterranean (or elsewhere) is a plus. Selection priority is given to Tourism Destination Management students. However, candidates with a different education background may also be taken into account.

Time Commitment

Five-month internship, 1st December 2013 to 30th April 2014, to be held at our Trieste office.

Conditions

Internships are on a voluntary basis. Wage is not envisaged. The intern will be provided with work instruments (computer, telephone, wifi) and a shared office space. The intern is going to entirely provide for his/her health, accomodation and other expense. The Barcheyacht team is young and dynamic. The intern will be working in a friendly, laid-back environment. Barcheyacht is preferably looking for an intern to be hired once the internship is over.
